Our Lower School teachers each have a blog: each homeroom teacher and each specials (technology, art, music, learning specialist, Spanish, French) teacher. They blog regularly to share assignments, photos, news, and more. It took about a year for everyone to adjust, and in the third year teachers post constantly. Parents love being more involved in the classroom lives of their students, and it's great for teachers to have an easy way to share with the families. Many teachers have tried adding embedded mp3's (to practice music, or language pronunciation) and videos (shot on Flip cameras), too.
I love reading the Lower School blog to see stories like this one below, from the first grade art teacher.
